At a new of a kind progressive school in Qatar, I work with children to reach their potential in academic and life skills.

K-12 Computer Science Teacher Trainer
Designed and delivered teacher training workshops to support computer science teachers in grades 6 through 9. The trainings covered topics that help in-service teachers in their lesson planning and instruction time.

Math TeacherTeach For Qatar
(2017 – 2019)
Taught fifth grade Math at Al-Obaib primary school for girls for two years. As part of being a fellow at Teach For Qatar in the same duration, improving the students’ mindset was an essential goal and an obtained result.

Leadership and Management

First Game Jam in Qatar – Organizer
(2020-2021)
Planned, led and organized the largest Game Jam event in Qatar, GameQode. The event targeted all age groups, sponsored by international and local companies, and organized by Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar. More than 100 individuals participated, achieving above 20 quality game submissions by the end of the event.

Game Development Academy – Organizer
(2020)
First of kind summer academy for middle and secondary school students that teaches video game development. Recruited industry professional game developers to deliver a world class training that teaches game development and design skills. 36 students benefited from 30 hours of training.

Computing Curriculum for Middle Schools – Researcher
(2016-2021)
As part of the Computing Hub in Carnegie Mellon University in Qatar, I co-authored papers about teacher training, curriculum development, and the overall impact of teaching computer science in schools (check my research page). Over 5000 students and 250 teachers benefited from this initiative.

Gamified Stories in History ClassesProject Leader
(2020)
Conducted comparative research to measure impact of gamified stories on students’ attainment in a history class. Published this case study in the International Conference on Education Technology and Computers and won the best presentation award. Published paper here.

Programming and Coding

Multi-Player Educational Games Developer
(2014-2016)
Developed educational games that allows four players to play in a cooperative and collaborative environments. This project was part of a research project that combined interdisciplinary approach to re-conceptualize language learning. I published a paper that covers the experience and approach in the International Conference on Computer Supported Education.

Robotics Programmer and Researcher
(2011-2013)
Developed coding that allows multi-robot communication to navigate in an unknown area and draw a virtual map of the surroundings. Created multi-robot exploration programs the follow different navigation algorithms, such as A-start, breadth-first search and heuristic.
